On 13 May 2010 over eighty people attended the Women Lawyers' Association of SA Inc. (WLA) annual movie night at the Palace Nova Cinema.
The opening night of Director Ridley Scott's epic movie Robin Hood featuring Russell Crow and Cate Blanchett proved to be very popular and was enjoyed by all.
Part proceeds from the night went to the NUNGA MIMINAR Womens Shelter.
A big thank you to everyone that attended and brought their friends, family and work colleagues.

Careers Seminar
Alternate Careers Seminar
On the 27 April 2010 the Women Lawyers' Association of SA Inc. (WLA) hosted its annual 'Alternate Career In Law' seminar at Adelaide University.
The seminar which was aimed at final year law students and focused on the question: 'Where to after law school?' showcased a range of alternate careers available to law graduates.
Approximately 40 students heard from successful women who have graduated from law school and forged diverse career paths. Each of the panel members talked to students about their own careers and provided attendees with a range of hints and tips to succeed in their own chosen field.

On Friday March 5 2010 10 members of the Women Lawyers' Association of SA Inc (WLA) attended the annual UNIFEM International Women's Day Breakfast hosted by The Hon Senator Penny Wong.
Over 1900 women attended the annual breakfast to support various projects run by UNIFEM and to celebrate international womens day.
The breakfast featured guest speaker, ABC reporter Sally Sara.
A big thank you to all those that attended and to everyone that registered their interest to attend. Unfortunately due to the high demand places were snapped up quickly and there was a waiting list.
The Association intends to book a table again next year, so stay tuned for updates and to register your interest again.

Christmas Drinks with the Judiciary
Thank you for attending our annual Christmas drinks with the judiciary on Thursday 26 November 2009 to celebrate the end of 2009.
The event was attended by a number of judicial representatives from the Supreme, District and Magistrates courts which included our Chief Justice John Doyle and Federal Magistrate Charlotte Kelly.
This year Women Lawyers' Association of SA Inc. (WLA) held a raffle to raise proceeds for the Alola Foundation to improve the lives of women in Timor-Leste. The raffle was a huge success and sold out within 20 minutes. The prizes included Haighs chocolates and 2 bottles of Geoff Merril 2000 signature Shiraz which were highly sought after.
The Alola Foundation was established by Kirsty Sword Gusmao wife of the former President of East Timor.
